Hotel Casa Da Palmeirinha | Portimão | Faro | Portugal
Converted into rural tourism, the Casa da Palmeirinha, whose origins date back to the sixteenth century, was once a cottage of a small Algarve town situated near the sea. The Great Mexilhoeira still retains the serenity of old, and a large part of their buildings comply moth humble South whitewashed narrow streets lined up. The Casa da Palmeirinha is no exception as regards the simple facade, whitewashed. The two-story building, the rear garden sheltered from prying eyes by high walls and its position in the church square, however, suggest some social significance to time taken by the owners. But inside, the world that unravels is another. The original house little remains beyond the basic structure, all the rest was rebuilt in modern architecture, precise line, giving the space a practical use and extremely comfortable. In the garden there is a huge high wall, straight lines, painted in tones of ox blood and divides the pool area and lake fish of another which extends a very cool green lawn that invites long sunbathing or a lazy nap. The old garden left a palm tree and a locust tree that stands between walls up to the rooftop. There is a staircase leading upstairs and gives passage to the rooms, where you can enjoy a magnificent view that stretches to the sea between Alvor and Lagos.
